PORT: Personal Overhead Rapid Transit

After the pilot projects a tram line could be replaced first by PORT. Step by step buses and railway lines will be replaced within cities, and tracks been built on important roads. After a successful operation, some parts of the city can be closed for cars.

Motorway hard shoulders are very suitable and convenient for PORT tracks for the transport of goods to and from industrial areas.

Within 30 to 50 years the network will have covered a nation. There will be no more cars with internal combustion engines. Only few public and slow-moving electric cars and velomobiles that can be used in exceptional cases. The heavy or large goods are still moved by truck or rail. There will be no more asphalt roads, but narrow strips for cyclists and heavy but slow-moving trucks.
